Visual Feature Guide

Read this page to get a walk-through on using Twister.

The Twister interface is divided in 4 pages:

1. Search Page
2. Download Page
3. Play List Page
4. Options Page

1. Search Page

Search Box
Enter the name of an artist or song in this box. You can also choose a previously used search term from the drop-down box. If you are not sure about the correct spelling, enter only the beginning of a name.

Search Button
After entering your search term, click the Search button. Twister will immediately start searching for files. The search results will appear in the Search grid below.

Search Grid
Twister supports two types of music files: MP3 files (with extension .mp3) and jukebox files (with extension .rm). Files that appear in the Search grid will automatically be checked for their availability. The files will get one of the following statuses: available for download , check in progress or unavailable . You can sort the files in the search grid by clicking on the headers.

Downloading Files
Select an available file by clicking on it. Choose Actions -> Download File from the menu or click the download button in the toolbar. Your download will start immediately. You can monitor your download on the Download Page.

2. Download Page

Select Download Page
Select the Download Page from the toolbar to monitor your downloads.

Download Grid
All downloads are listed in the Download grid. You can perform several actions on your downloads: cancel a download , clear a dowload , cancel all downloads and clear all downloads . You can choose the actions from the toolbar or from the Actions menu. You can sort the downloads in the download grid by clicking on the headers.

3. Play List Page

Select Play List Page
Select the Play List Page from the toolbar to organize your files and to listen to your music.

Play List Grid
All music files in your Download directory will be listed in the Play List Grid. You can perform several actions on your music files: launch a file , rename a file , delete a file and refresh the Play List Grid .

4. Options Page

Select Options Page
Select the Options Page from the toolbar to set your program options.

Setting Directories
Click on the Browse buttons to select the Download and Incomplete directories. When files are downloaded to your computer, they are temporarily saved in the Incomplete directory. When a download completes, the file is automatically copied to your Download directory. Your music file will then be available on your Play List Page. The Download and Incomplete directories can't be the same.

Automatically Clear Downloads
Checking this option will automatically clear completed downloads in the Download grid.

Clear Last Searches
If you want to clear the list of your last performed searches, click on the button Clear Last Searches.
